Biography

Kimberly Marable is a seasoned actor with over 15 years of experience in theater, television, and voiceover work. She is currently starring as Velma Kelly in the long-running Broadway musical Chicago. Kimberly’s impressive Broadway career includes standout roles in The Lion King and Sister Act, as well as her work in the Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical Hadestown, where she was an original cast member and understudied the roles of Persephone and one of the Fates. She later went on to originate the role of Persephone in the 1st National Tour of Hadestown.

Beyond Broadway, Kimberly has made notable television appearances on shows such as FBI and Bull, and has performed in NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert series. She has also appeared in high-profile television specials, including the 85th and 93rd Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades and the 73rd Annual Tony Awards. Her voiceover work includes playing Lorelai in the Netflix anime series Cannon Busters and providing promotional voiceovers for various television networks.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Kimberly holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater, modified with Sociology, from Dartmouth College. She has also contributed to academia, serving as an adjunct professor for the Theatre Program at Drexel University. In 2012, Kimberly co-founded Broadway Serves, an affiliate program of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, which encourages theater professionals to engage in community service. Additionally, she serves on the Entertainment Community Fund’s Human Services Committee, vice chairs the Advisory Committee for the Fund’s Looking Ahead program, and is a trustee for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

 

Kimberly’s dedication to her craft and her commitment to service have made her a respected figure both on and off the stage.
